Valletta Cruise is honoured to be extending its support to Action for Breast Cancer Foundation this October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Action for Breast Cancer Foundation is a voluntary organization which since 2007 has widely campaigned on health issues most notably breast cancer awareness and a quality assured service in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in the Maltese Islands. Through their activities, Action for Breast Cancer Foundation work towards strengthening everyone’s awareness on the dangers of cancer and its repercussions on patients and their loved ones.

The foundation offers each person diagnosed with breast cancer a folder in which to keep all the relevant information they may need, a free brassiere to those who have undergone a mastectomy and free psychological services. The foundation has also actively lobbied government, and continues to create general awareness on early detection as well as donated to research projects in conjunction with the Alive Charity Foundation for further research on breast cancer.

Action for Breast Cancer Foundation is organizing two fun-filled 45-minute fitness sessions within Sagrestia Vault, annexed to the Chapel of the Valletta Waterfront on Saturday 15th October, with the venue extended for these sessions courtesy of Valletta Cruise Port. The fitness sessions will be followed by informal networking over complimentary finger food, fruit and water at the Hard Rock Café, located next door to Sagrestia Vault. Those who do not wish to take part in the fitness session, are more than welcome to join at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Stephen Xuereb, COO of Global Ports Holding and CEO of Valletta Cruise Port said, “We are privileged to continue supporting Action for Breast Cancer Foundation in their efforts to ease the journey of cancer patients and those near and dear to them, and in their continuous awareness campaigns. Cancer is often a silent disease, and its awareness, early detection, treatment, as well as life-after-cancer are very important topics that require distinct attention.”

Esther Sant on behalf of the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation commented, “While the number of new cases a year in Malta reach 350 amongst which 3-4 will be males, the Foundation will continue to stive to support these patients and lobby for more targeted treatments for the benefit of the patients’ and their families. Nonetheless Action for Breast Cancer Foundation will continue to promote healthy lifestyles by encouraging physical activity and healthy diets. Come and join us Saturday 15th October at the Hard Rock Valletta, Sagrestia Vault at the Waterfront for some good time together!”
